Our experience was very good. We arrived to a friendly welcome by the owners who gave us a quick tour of the house and then showed us to our room. The room was very clean and tidy with views of the sea, overall the rooms are of a high standard. The breakfast was well cooked and consistent. Overall our stay was very pleasant would highly recommend.
Very good accommodation. Some updating needed. Really excellent breakfast! Very nice and friendly service.
Broad St The Harbour, Dewon, Ilfracombe EX34 9EE, UK – 01271 862939
We booked at short notice as another venue had let us down and it turned out to be a fantastic place to stay, right on the harbourside with loads of parking within a short distance. The staff very helpful and polite. The room was modern and clean as was the bathroom with power shower and ive never seen so much coffee, tea, sugar and milk by the kettle with 3 cups and saucers, usually in other hotels you get 2 cups and saucers and enough tea or coffee for 1 or 2 cups so well done. Sometimes it is the little things that make the difference. We will be booking to come back again very soon 😁😁
Lovely staff and bent over backwards to please us

Not long come back from a 3 night stay at the carlton hotel Ilfracombe. We have stayed there 3 times before so we were pleasantly surprised at the improvements made to the hotel by Michael and Eliot. Our room was a deluxe queen which was tastefully decorated, warm and immaculately clean. The beds were really comfortable which is always a plus. Great breakfast and superb evening meal. All staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is in a nice quiet location and within easy walking distance to the town centre. The hotel has its own car park which is a bonus. So 5 stars all round we will definitely be returning . Wendy and Steven Spencer
Enjoyable stay with pleasant and helpfull staff. Good clean rooms and lovely common areas. Approaching the end of a refurbishment and is looking good for the money.

Very nice welcoming pub. Food was good pub grub, really tasty and hearty. Advice is to book in advance if you want to take dogs with you as they keep one side for dogs. Prices very reasonable. Beer and wine was good too, all in all we were very happy indeed
Food is amazing & such a friendly welcoming atmosphere inside. I highly recommend if you are staying in Ilfracombe.

Went for New Year's Eve. Loved it. Great interior, felt like we were in Spain. My husband and I are vegans and there were loads of delicious options for us, which was more than we expected from a restaurant so far outside London! There were free crackers and a glass of prosecco. The staff were lovely and the bill at the end of the night was extremely reasonable.
Came out for my friends birthday and I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. On a damp October day, the food and hospitality here were just what we needed. A delicious endless supply of tapas with a great selection of gins and cocktails too! Definitely recommend man.

Lovely pla5to visit or stay. Both Lynne and Laura are very pleasant to talk to.
A simple guest house with clean rooms and friendly staff. It looks a little tired but that is reflected in the price. Great breakfast!

Fabulous little place. I have stayed twice now. The first time I booked though a Booking site as it claimed to give the best rate! Then the 2nd time I booked DIRECT. This was by far the best way and BOOKING DIRECT through their own website gives the best value for money. BEST TIP. BOOK DIRECT.
Very nice people. Good breakfast. The area, both the city and the hills are very beatiful. We stayed there for three nights.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Smythen Farm Cottages are 10 cottages on a small plot of land with a lovely view across the valley and to the sea. The cottages have a games room, pool and a swing, slide and trampoline. Very peaceful.
Lovely place in the middle of nowhere where you can rest and recharge.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Mill Park Ltd. It is a great base to explore North Devon. The staff were helpful and courteous and the site is really well maintained, despite the fact they had had awful weather prior to our stay. The site facilities are clean and well kept. We stayed in the Top Field and the showers weren't the best in the world, but more than adequate and very clean. We enjoyed the onsite bar in the evening which is great for families. We will definitely return.
It's a shame I can't give a higher rating than 5! Mill Park is a great place to stay. The toilets and showers are spotless the Pub on site is welcoming and I particularly enjoyed being able to take a few pints of carry out back to the tent ( to avoid trapped dad syndrome!). We took a trailer tent and found that the pitch was a generous size with enough space to park you car next to it. You may wish to call them when booking with the details of your tent / van as oksome of the pitches have a bit of a rake on them which can be challenging when pitching up. It was nice to see that the site was patrolled politely and professionally to remind you and other people to respect the 10pm noise curfew. ( It's easy to forget the time on holiday) The weather has been terrible and has effected the state of the pitches. This has been managed well by the staff who are only too happy to help providing advice and wood/ cardboard when required. Despite all the mud the facilities are still fantastically clean which is again a credit to the staff. In similar conditions on a different site we may have decided to go home a lot earlier but as Mill Park is so well managed and maintained we stayed 12 days out of our allotted 14. Thanks to all the staff !

Nice site to stay on. Shower block was ok not the best ive used. Large cubicals witch was handy for our family of 4 to use. Tent pitches could do with been abit more level. Amazing for walks around the area. Extreme wind when we stoped witch forced alot of people to take porches off there tents including myself.
Fantastic views, friendly site. Great facilities for kids.
Watermouth, Ilfracombe EX34 9SJ, UK – 01271 866862
The view from our pitch was stunning, what ever the weather. Really liked the 'alcove' layout of the whole site. The entrance by car is tricky as not sign posted before the turn off and a blind turn out onto the road. Pedestrian access is also tricky as there isn't a footpath all the way along the road (which cars travel very fast along) and the path from the site was treacherous on the one occasion we used it. A quiet site which is nice but 9pm a little early! As with other sites that charge per pitch for 2 people, not sure why I have to pay full pitch price + dog price per night although just me and the dog. I paid more than my 2 people companions.
Me and my husband stayed here for 5 nights. On arrival we were impressed with the lovely view from the site and the facilities were nice and clean, not mind blowing but considering they were free they were all you could ask for really. We didn't really feel like we had a very warm welcome, there was just a note left outside the reception hut telling us to camp where we liked and to call back at another time. The whole time throughout our stay we only ever saw anyone in the reception about 3 times between leaving notes on a chalkboard outside. If we had a problem we would've had the inconvenience of walking up to the farm and bothering the owner. Also hearing complaints about their guests wasn't very pleasant, if you're going to run a campsite at least show your face and show interest in your guests. On our last day, we stayed until 12:30, you're meant to check out at 11 but once again there was no one around to wish us fair well so we thought why not? 😂. Although a nice walk down to the local cosy pub (which does amazing food and give you a great welcome) we won't be visiting again.
