Stayed here with friends before setting of to lundy . Great hosts, very welcoming and helpful , arrived far to early and they still managed to accomadate us, nothing was any trouble. Rooms very clean and tidy with all usual amenities . Lovely Garden in the back. This Hotel located about few mins walk to town and beaches, perfect out of the way , yet close to town. Will book again next year for our next Adventure.
Have just returned home from staying in Ilfracombe at The Darnley Hotel cottage. Stayed in one of two beautiful cottages, ours being called the Magnolia cottage for 7 nights. The cottage we stayed in was self-catering with a respectively sized kitchen, lounge, 1 toilet, 1 bathroom with toilet and two bedrooms. The kitchen had a gas cooker, fridge and microwave and good cupboard space with a big wide window with good views of both the garden and across Ilfracombe. The lounge was a nice size with two nice size windows making it nice and airy with a dining room table at the end, a nice L shaped sofa which was comfortable. Nice size wide screen TV, dvd player and free view box. The tv has both HDMI and usb so we could use our Chromecast to watch films. The bathroom was a nice size and had a bath with shower unit both served with plenty of nice hot water. Both bedrooms were a comfortable size one room with a double bed and one room with two singles and wardrobes in both rooms. The cottage has excellent wifi with the router being located in the cottage hallway, brilliant signal, Paul will advise you of the password when he shows you around. Paul, the hotel owner was an absolute gent, very approachable and nothing was too much trouble. We will be definitely rebooking to stay next year. Another nice touch to the cottages is the lovely hotel pathway that leads you down to the main road, at night the path is lit so you feel pretty safe. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes walk from the harbour, quiet location. Thourghly enjoyable stay :-)

With the warmest of welcomes, exemplary service at meal times, wonderful hospitality and fabulous decor - there is no better place to stay in Ilfracombe. Michael and Eliot deliver the highest standard of service and nothing is too much trouble. Their knowledge of the area is second to none and their team reflect their superior hospitality ethos in every sense. The food at The Carlton is both imaginative and completely delicious with so many of the ingredients being locally sourced. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the cleanliness is excellent. Please don’t miss this absolute treat of a hotel.
Excellent location and wonderful traditional building which is very well appointed in all the public rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was faultless. The top floor room was fine and good value for money but there was a single fault (hence losing a star) which was the shower. The water pressure was too low and so controlling the temperature was impossible. Hopefully this was a one-off but worth investigating and fixing if it turns out to be a longer term issue. Many thanks.

Every Sunday when its sunny through the summer they have the most awesome outdoor jam session from early afternoon all the way into the night time. The band sunny Sundays crew are top quality and played so many genres. The food was amazing and the view overlooking the sea is second to none. Check it out
Nice Sat on poop deck overlooking the sea however wasn't pleased with our meals...the gammon especially. Came without tomatoes and pineapple, and when mentioned to a member of staff I was told they'd ran out of pineapple and was given half a tomato! I would of chosen something else if I had known.

Came for an early lunch for a friend's hen do. Good food and very friendly. Our reserved table had balloons and glitter waiting for us which was a nice touch :) would definitely recommend.
Came here with the family my partner and 9 month old was made to feel really welcome. Great food, great service. Would definitely come again if down this way!

Such a lovely location for a holiday. The cottage was clean and well kept and the farm has some lovely surroundings and its own beach which is a bonus. Walks along the coast are on the doorstep, and local towns with shops and pubs are a short drive away. I think we will be going back again one day.
Wonderful charming comfortable cottages, a stunning setting - will definitely be back. A real find.

Just returned from a three night stay in Watermouth Cove Cottages. After a bit of a nightmare with other accommodation we booked Watermouth cove cottages last minute. We are so glad we did, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Upon arrival Clare was there to meet us and she made us feel so welcome. As we were late booking she was busy making up the beds and setting up the cottage. We decided to have a bite to eat and when we returned we had a lovely note wishing us a happy anniversary. The cottage itself was so cosy and we had a log burner to warm the cold nights. It is dog friendly and Toby had his own little garden. There are some nice walks not too far away which is an added bonus. We will definitely be back.
I have just returned recently from a wonderful break with my partner at Seashell Cottage and oh what a wonderful peaceful and relaxing retreat! I needed a quiet week away and this ticked all the boxes. Just a few minutes walk right onto the beach with the most amazing skies and sunsets. Staying here was like home away from home, I just wish I could have stayed another week but I will be back. Lots of rustic features and full of character. So much better than staying in a hotel, I almost felt I had always lived there and it was my own place! The gardens are lovely and we had our own patio with french doors leading out into the gardens. Thank you for our lovely welcome and allowing us to re-charge our batteries! It was just what we needed.

My partner and I stayed at the lush Rocky Cove when we had a friends wedding at the tunnels. Which is just a 5 min walk away. As soon as we checked in we were greeted by The lovely Nicky & Jonah who answered our questions and happily gave us tips on the best places to visit and eat. We stayed at the very top room looking out over the heart of Ilfracombe. Which we had a quick sit down by the window and ate our complimentary homemade Fudge sweets with our tea that was given to us upon entry. The bedroom was very spacious and modern. Loved the shower. We had a great night sleep here! We unfortunately didn’t get the chance to have Jonah’s amazing breakfast due to our hangover from the wedding. But they understood and was keen to knock us up at least a quick bacon butty for our journey home. My partner and I would definitely stay at the Rocky cove again because the place, the people and where it is located is great! Thank you for a wonderful night stay Nicky & Jonah. Until next time! Xx
The best B&B I've ever been, the hosts went beyond duty and care. The rooms are really clean, the toilet are immaculate. Breakfast is amazing. If I come back to Ilfracombe. Its right in the middle of town and walking distant from everything. Highly recommended.

A great value b+b. Good food and clean room.
Great host, great breakfast and very clean. Booked to go there again!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Had an amazing weekend here on my friends hen weekend, the glamping pod was amazing and the staff are so friendly. The shower and toilet facilities are so clean and modern, and the on site shop has everything you need. I would defiantly come back again with my family
What a campsite.....!! Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Stayed here for a week in a bell tent by the lake. Perfect can not describe the experience we had here. Have been to a lot of campsites nothing compares to this. The owners and staff are a credit to this lovely place. The location is perfect for getting to anywhere around North Devon. Onsite shower/toilet block was always clean and spotless. The on site pub was a delight. There is an external games room and outside activity area for the kids. Also the fishing was excellent. Lovely stock of fish and well kept. We didn't realise how dog friendly this site was, otherwise we would have brought our own. Next time.....! We will be back.....! Many thanks Mill Park....!

Fantastic campsite. Beautiful views from the hilltop. Goats in a hillside paddock, playground for tiny tots and children, table tennis, badminton, pool table.....all these things make a good campsite to keep children occupied. The new unisex toilet and shower block is spacious, clean and the best washing facilities I've come across on a campsite. Pub right next to campsite serves really good food.
So far love it, thunder storms added a little extra excitement. Finished our trip now, and the park is wonderful for families, enough for the kids to do, great views and walks, quite compact, and very quiet in the evenings. Great location for exploring the coast, and the pub being so close to the site, is a great asset. Highly recommended.
